MICHELLE BIO

Michelle Tunno Buelow is the founder of Bella Tunno, the purpose-driven baby brand on a mission to end childhood hunger.

Michelle launched Bella Tunno as a passion project in 2005, so she could start a charitable fund to help vulnerable children. For every product sold, Bella Tunno donates at least one meal to a hungry child. To date, the company has donated more than 6.6 million meals to people in need. The brand’s personality-filled teething and mealtime accessories for children are sold by several major retailers, including Target, Buy Buy Baby, Amazon and Nordstrom, as well as more than 3,000 independent boutiques throughout the U.S.

Michelle serves on several philanthropic boards and volunteers with local organizations whenever she can. She champions several causes that are near and dear to her, including ending childhood hunger, drug and alcohol rehabilitation efforts, and helping vulnerable women and children. Michelle is a founding member of the Endowment Board of the Charlotte Rescue Mission, and she sits on the board of Fashion & Compassion, an organization committed to transforming the lives of women in destructive situations in 7 countries.

She was named one of EY’s Entrepreneurial Winning Women, as well as Charlotte’s Top 40 Under 40, Charlotte’s Woman Business Achievement Award, Charlotte Business Leader Women Extraordinaire Recipient, The Mecklenburg Times Most Influential Women Honoree, Corporate Volunteerism Award Winner, Winner of Babble.com’s Top 50 Mompreneurs, and Charlotte’s Top 50 Entrepreneur Award Winner. Michelle was recently named a Vital Voices Global Ambassador, and she was a finalist for Ernst & Young's Carolina Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
